Since so many students want to be published at a very young age, they have taken to devising the answers to many of the essay questions that they know they will need to answer as a student.
As a result, there is not enough time or money to conduct any real research online or off. This leaves the student to either choose essay topics that have already been answered to their satisfaction, or to devise a new plan and attempt to come up with an answer to the standard, in order to find a topic that has not been addressed. Both of these approaches are counterproductive, since you are more likely to come up with an essay topic that does not work, if you deviate from the approved list of topics. The trouble is that many students simply don't have the time or money to try to come up with their own list of college essay topics. Another factor is that the suggested topics often only pertain to the type of college that the student is going to attend. If you go into a math department at Harvard, for example, you won't find much to write about, since such subjects don't seem to apply. Your chances of finding good topics will be significantly lower when you begin your research online. The trouble with using the Internet to help with writing essay topics is that the content you will be given will already have been prepared. The search engines can be extremely helpful in identifying the topics and other questions that may be asked, but your chances are greatly increased by trying to use other resources. This means trying to find a topic that has not been addressed by other students, or one that was not created to be used for a particular type of essay topic. You can do this through any number of methods. You can visit forums where you can see what the other writers are working on; you can join a discussion group to ask questions; or you can simply search the Internet for other websites that offer a variety of topics that have not been fully explored. The key is to focus on the specifics of the specific topics that you are looking for. This can be difficult, since most of the sources online will try to guide you to choosing a topic that is similar to another. It is important that you do not let yourself get drawn into reading about other topics, when your specific needs are not met. However, this is not a good idea if you just want to avoid the problem altogether. Rather, look for topics that are not presented by anyone else, but are just a matter of personal preference. You will not have to worry about the subject being completely covered, because the goal is to look for topics that haven't been fully addressed yet. If you make a commitment to read the topics that are available to you, you will find that you can skip the trouble of finding your own list of college essay topics. In fact, you might even find that you make up your own list to avoid having to use the ones that have already been created.
